Our Vision & Capacity

To Promote Paediatric Research, Care, Training, Mentorship and Advocacy for better health of children in urban and rural communities

Keprecon is an administratively independent wing of the Kenya Paediatric Association (KPA), Kenya’s most established and oldest professional association in the health sector. It was developed to support the association in scientific activities outside the realm of a civil society organization. This allows the organization to enjoy the large and widely spread membership with ability to participate in research and service projects led by Keprecon. The consortium also has strong membership from academia (Departments of Paediatrics in 4 local universities), available as think tank. Keprecon also bonds strongly with seasoned research organizations like Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) and Welcome Trust Foundation, Kenya with whose collaboration the consortium develops care guidelines and job aids. Finally, the consortium leverages for KPA in engagements with relevant government departments. Keprecon enjoys strong advisory governance and high caliber leadership supported by a very efficient secretariat.
