Dr. Nelly Bosire
Technical Lead - Advocacy Capacity Strengthening
Dr. Nelly Bosire is a practicing Obstetrician/Gynaecologist, with special interests in Health Policy and Advocacy. After her undergraduate training in Bachelors Degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBCHB) at Moi University, Dr. Nelly Bosire went on to pursue her specialization in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, attaining a Masters Degree (MMED OBS/GYN) at the University of Nairobi. She served as a Council Member in the Medical Practitioners and Dentists’ Council of Kenya from 2014 to 2019 and remains in the Council as a co-opted member, where she participates in the regulation of the practice of Medicine and Dentistry in the country, specifically in the Disciplinary and Ethics Committee and the Examinations Board and in the Advisory Panel of Experts. In addition, she chairs the Health Advisory Board of St. Francis Community Hospital, a level five faith-based institution in Nairobi. Among her current and active engagements, Dr Nelly Bosire is a technical lead in the Championing Evidence-Based Advocacy for Primary Health Care & Reproductive, Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health + Nutrition, in Kenya, a Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation funded project. She brings to the project her vast experience on issues related to advocating for the maternal and child health and continues to share and implement, through her role as a columnist in the Daily Nation (a leading media house in Kenya) her passionate ideas with the team and other relevant stakeholders.
