Dr Supa Tunje

Dr Supa Tunje obtained both her undergraduate M.B.Ch.B and postgraduate MMED degrees from the University of Nairobi. She pursued her Fellowship in Paediatric Neurology at Aga Khan University, Nairobi and has a Diploma in Health Systems Management from Galilee Institute of Management, Israel.
Apart from being the National Chair of Kenya Paediatric Association, Dr Supa is also a practicing consultant Paediatrician and Neurologist at Machakos Level 5 Hospital. She serves as the Deputy Medical Superintendent and Head of Clinical Services at the Hospital. Dr Supa is also a visiting consultant with Aga Khan University Hospital outreach clinics, Gertrude’s Children Hospital and Metropolitan Hospital in Nairobi. She has been involved in implementation research with Clinical Information Network at Machakos Hospital as one of the consultants providing technical support and facilitating collaboration of the hospital with Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI).
In the area of health policy and administration, Dr Supa is a policy and guideline developer providing technical support to the Ministry of Health. She previously served as the Treasurer General of the Kenya Medical Association, and a member of the National Adoption Committee. She was a member of the Health Financing Reforms Expert Panel to transform and reposition NHIF as a strategic purchaser of health services. She is a strong advocate on matters child health and especially for those with neurological disorders and children with disabilities. Dr Supa is a member of the interim committee of East Africa Child Neurology Association.
