Malaria Vaccine Trials – RTSS Project

Funded by KEMRI-Wellcome Trust, the Malaria Trial (RTS, S/AS01) Vaccine Sentinel Evaluation was carried out by Keprecon in partnership with the Ministry of Health and World Health Organization from 2018 to 2024 among children aged 5-48 months admitted in 6 health facilities in Western Kenya region.

During the project, the surveillance team undertook phased introduction of RTS, S/AS01 malaria vaccine, while the resident health facility management teams engaged in quality improvement for malaria testing and cerebrospinal fluid sample processing for diagnosis of meningitis.

The Kenya Paediatric Research Consortium (Keprecon) is a Non-Governmental Organization set up to promote Paediatric Research, Care, Training, Mentorship and Advocacy for better health of children in urban and rural communities.
